The bathroom is composed of different surfaces that can accumulate rust, water stains, soap stains, and mildew. There are chrome surfaces, glass, porcelain, brass and fiberglass that you should know how to effectively clean without damaging it. So, here are some helpful hints on how you can effectively clean these different surfaces without damaging it and cleaning it easily without breaking your back.
1. For ceramic tiles, it is important to remember that ceramic tiles are susceptible to scratches. This is why it is important that you should only use non abrasive or light abrasive cleaner to rub off the stains. If the stains are hard to remove, you should first mix a solution to soften it and make it easy for you to remove. For every 1 gallon of water, you should mix 3/4 bup of bleach. This will effectively soften the stains and make it easier for you to clean.
2. For porcelain fixtures, you will notice that there will be hard water stains, and soap stain buildup. The first step in cleaning is by applying a chemical cleaner designed for porcelain. Apply it and wait for 30 minutes to let it penetrate the stain. After 30 minutes, you can now rub or scour the surface. There are also hard water mineral removers that you can use that are effective in removing hard water stains.
To avoid damaging the surface, you should use a non abrasive cleaner for rubbing the surface of your porcelain fixture.
3. For the toilet bowls, the interiors are prone to hard water mineral deposits. Use a toilet brush with long handles and also soak the interior with bleach. This will make the stains easier to remove. For hard water marks, you can use a pumice stone to remove it. Always remember that you should never mix different kinds of toilet bowl cleaner together as it can give off toxic fumes.
4. For glass shower doors and mirrors, it is recommended that you should use a non-streaking cleaning product. Glass doors and mirrors in the bathroom are prone for hard water mineral deposits that can make it look dull and dirty. To remove this deposit, you should use a hard water mineral remover. It will soften the minerals and make it easy for you to rub it off the mirrors and glass doors.
5. The next step in cleaning the whole bathroom is by applying disinfectant to keep the bathroom germ free. You can also apply bathroom fresheners to keep your bathroom smelling fresh and clean.
6. The bathroom should be cleaned frequently in order to avoid stain build up that can be very hard to remove.
